Icontrol Networks Adds Eleven Devices to Growing OpenHome Ecosystem

Press Releases

New Security and Energy Management Devices Meet Growing Consumer Demand for Connected Smart Home Products

Redwood City, CA – June 11, 2014Icontrol Networks, a leader in connected home technology and innovation, today announced it has certified eleven new devices through its OpenHome™ Partner Program. Ranging from connected keyless door locks to thermostats and light switches, the new additions address top consumer needs and bring new depth to Icontrol’s growing smart home ecosystem.

Icontrol Networks’ 2014 State of the Smart Home Report found that consumers identify security and energy management as two of the top reasons to purchase a smart home system. The newly OpenHome-certified Kwikset® SmartCode™ 910 and 914, as well as the Weiser® SmartCode™ GED1495 and GED 1800 Keyless Entry Door Locks, will bring consumers added peace of mind via remote locking features. Other additions such as the Salus Optima Thermostat and Jasco ZigBee In-Wall ON/OFF Switch 45856 will allow consumers to monitor and manage their energy consumption to keep usage in check.

Other new OpenHome-certified products include:

  • Bosch TriTech Motion Detector ISW-ZDL1-WP11G
  • Bosch Wireless PIR Motion Detector ISW-ZPR1-WP13
  • Jasco ZigBee In-Wall Dimmer 45857
  • Jasco ZigBee Plug-In Dimmer, Lamp Module 45852
  • Jasco ZigBee Plug-In ON/OFF, Lighting and Appliance 45853

“More than 70 applications and devices have been certified and are now part of the OpenHome ecosystem, with 80 more currently in the works,” said Jason Domangue, Icontrol’s vice president of ecosystem development. “These devices and apps have been integrated using OpenHome’s secure, solid open standards, to ensure they all work together frictionlessly in real-world conditions. For the connected living market to reach its full potential, devices and applications must be able to work in the rigors of the real world. No other interoperability program is addressing the mass market needs like the OpenHome program.”

Expectations that smart home revenues will reach $71 billion by 2018 (Juniper Research) are leading software developers and device manufacturers to create intelligent, connected objects. The OpenHome™ Partner Program is the world’s most open interoperability program for developers and device makers. The newly-certified devices join industry leaders Pebble, Sylvania Ultra iQ LED Bulbs, and CentraLite in the growing OpenHome ecosystem.

Makers and developers interested in joining the OpenHome Partner Program can get more information on the Icontrol website. Certified devices will become available to Icontrol’s service provider partners to offer to their customers around the globe.
